About the best-selling book ” Everything a Child Needs ” –

“All a child needs is one adult to believe in him,” said Rabbi Shlomo Karlibach.
Who is that “adult” and what is the process he has to go through with the child in order to give him everything he needs and wants?
Yonatan Doron opens for us a courageous and revealing personal travel diary, exciting and moving,
From a childhood of wandering between air force bases as the son of a pilot father, through youth in a boarding school, to being an educator, high school principal and educational and family consultant.
Photos and events from his childhood, which Jonathan brings here in small and painful portions, evoke a desire to rescue and protect him and immediately give him everything a child really needs. But as you read further, the picture becomes clearer: that boy grew up and got stronger, and now he is the one who does everything to give the children in need everything they need. Jonathan is not an educator who teaches the child in a didactic tone how to align with the norms and be exactly like everyone else. He is an educator who studies each child and helps him to be what suits him to be, within his world, within the system. It is not a book by an educator who recommends what can be done to get the child to manage within the accepted framework, but one that thinks about what can be changed in the accepted framework so that each child can get what he really needs.
Yonatan Doron, thirty-eight years old, lives in Tel-Aviv, married to Shiran and father to Michelle and Amelie; Parent guide and family counselor, and also manager of a unique educational framework in Bat Yam for children with behavioral difficulties. In addition, he lectures and serves as an educational consultant for the education teams in schools.

About the book ” To the Enchanted Forest of Childhood ” –
In the book To the magical forest of childhood, Jonathan Doron invites us to the breaking points of children at risk, torn families and parents and educators who do not give up on the children. From the exposure to the families who were hurt and hurt, a constant motif of understanding emerges. Every parent who erred, hurt or abandoned, every child who beat and blew up and destroyed – they all deserve understanding and inclusion, renewed trust and correction.
Interwoven in the book are also the stories of parents and teenagers whose first book by Yonatan Doron rolled into their hands, and reading it set in motion a miraculous change in the course of their lives. There is no greater satisfaction than this for a person who writes a book – the ability to write down things that will actually help many people and will be a lifeline for them, or at least a ray of comfort.
Jonathan also takes us to his insights and reflections as an experienced educator, and to the messages he finds in fairy tales and children’s movies. Along the way, he always strives to strengthen the bond between the adult and the child within him, who often needs care and his own space.
Yonatan offers a loving look to all lost children and all parents, without a hint of judgement, accepting without reservation and with full respect for their choice. And who among us does not yearn for someone who will accept us unconditionally, with love.

Yonatan Doron ran a democratic high school in Tel Aviv and also a unique setting for children with behavioral and integration difficulties in Bat Yam. Today, at the time of the publication of the book, he is managing a unique project that he conceived and is implementing with teenagers in middle school and high school in Makmorut, and accompanies educational teams throughout the country. In addition, as a trained parent facilitator, he has a clinic in Tel Aviv and serves as a consultant to inspectors and principals of schools and educational institutions. And yet, amidst his multitude of occupations, he insists on concentrating the field of arts and music in the boarding school where he was educated as a boy – “Vitzo Hadasim” in Sharon.
This is Jonathan’s second book. The first book, “Everything a Child Needs”, found tracks for thousands of hearts and was followed by a busy round of lectures by Jonathan, the book and the guitar, who did not leave (and still do not leave) a dry eye in the audience. The lecture tour expanded and reached North America within a year and the book was also translated into English.

About the third book Children of the Moon

The children of the moon are those children and teenagers who were not spoiled by life. They had to make their way without the safe and obvious foundation of a supportive family and a protective environment. The main part of Children of the Moon brings the stories of boys and girls whose path crossed Jonathan’s path, when he met them as an educator, as a school principal or as an educational companion, sometimes over a timeline of years.
This crossing of the paths of the boy or girl at risk with the right adult who believes in them, listens to them, instills hope in them and simply is with them in these moments – it has enormous power. And then the magic happens and the girl or boy finds the mental strength to rise up, even without a supportive home, to get on the high road and change the course of their lives by their own power.
The second part of the book brings reflections and thoughts about fatherhood, family and education. The third part revives memories of Yonatan himself from his boarding school days, as a moon child himself, and the fourth part is an invitation to dive into the songs he wrote in adolescence as well as composed and performed, and listen to them. This connection through the sounds weaves threads and connections that words alone do not know how to make.
